Spirit lead me
In light of the mainstream hobby of bashing anyone and everyone who is different than us I put together a few words of my own. The irony of my post is not lost on me. To use words to encourage others not to use words. We live in a circular motion, don't we? ...............................................................,. Your loud protest makes a fool of you. A mockery of your mockery. Pounding your message out to the crowds. Ranting and raving with spiteful and pointed words. What accomplishment will you claim? What award do you hope to assign your name to? Your signage spews words that inflict wounds and you call it your right. But there is another way. A way to love and tell truth. A way to give hope and not condemn. A way to encourage and not destroy. There is a way that brings life. There is a truth that brings freedom. There life that brings redemption. It is Jesus. And His cause will not be won on your wall or in your feed but in your home and on your streets. With your kindness and not your hate. Put down the battle and focus on the war. Love. Wins.

What if instead of God just levying punishment in the aftermath of the fall we find a heart-stung Father telling His willful children the consequences of the door they have busted open through their sinful act. Before the fall they knew only good. Now they were to know the evil. They had known the joys of marriage, now they would know the struggles. They had known the productivity of work, now they would know the toil. They had known a fulfilling bond of intimacy, now hey would know separation. And so on. As God uncovers sadness after sadness and they are burdened more and more sting upon sting with the final blow to that of horror and mercy. You had known only life and now you will know death. Truly the consequences of what they (we) have done are more than meted out punishments. We do not serve a spiteful God. But a just God who would have had us avoid the fall of sin, but in His holy judgment will still allow us to bear the weight of choice and the consequences of our choices. Hold tight to the teachings, The commandments, the ways of God through Christ. They are the way, truth, and life. He alone can show us the path through the thorn ridden garden of our own temptations. |
